Think a good deal of life is spent knocking boots? Think again. A new study by Reebok showed people don't exactly spend a huge chunk of time having sex during their lifetime. The fitness brand wanted to know how much time people devote to physical activity during their life. Apparently not a lot. In conjunction with Censuswide, Reebok reviewed data from nine countries and discovered, on average, people will spend .45 percent of their life, or 117 days, having sex.

If that sounds depressing, consider a study published in November that found couples who had sex once a week were happiest. Even though it seems like having more sex would generally make people feel better, that's not necessarily the case. There was no correlation between happiness and getting it on a lot. Those who had sex more often didn't see a spike in their satisfaction.

In addition to not having a lot of sex, people also don't have a lot of partners. The Center for Disease Control revealed most men have an average of six partners over the course of their life, while most women have an average of four. For those who have slept with 15 or more partners during their life, that number is just over 20% for men and 10% for women.

John Oliver warned viewers not to buy into scientific studies since many haven't been vetted properly, and there may be some truth to that observation, at least when it comes to a fitness brand conducting a study about physical activity in order to launch a new campaign. Still, Reebok found people spend an average of 41% of their time engaging with technology, which could mean wonders for the virtual reality porn world.

Reebok did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment.
