Five Guys makes one of the best fast food hamburgers. It has all the makings of a praise-worthy burger—cheap, simple, and delicious—which is how it earned a spot on our list of the 25 best burgers in NYC. That dude who made the viral autotuned review of a Five Guys burger is with us on this one. But someone else has taken Five Guys fandom to the next level: a guy in DC with an apparently insatiable craving broke into the restaurant, cooked himself some burgers, took some water bottles, and left.
The burger burglar got into Five Guys by following a delivery man in and then hanging back until he left, Death and Taxes reports. According to the police report, the man the DC police are looking for "rummaged through the establishment, cooked food, and stole bottled water before leaving the restaurant."
The burglar, who sports a fedora for the special occasion, can be seen cooking himself a few burgers and talking on the phone in the surveillance footage. Although he doesn't make an effort to cover his face at all, he appears to know exactly where everything is. It looks like this guy had scoped out the location before making his illegal entry.
While we definitely don't condone any kind of burglary, we can relate to the craving for one of these burgers that led this bold dude on his mission. If he ends up getting caught, a pretty hilarious series of court proceedings lies ahead of him.
