Forget mounting student debt, stagnant wages and unaffordable housing. The biggest threat facing young Americans is porn. Well, only if you are to believe the governor of Utah.

According to the Daily Dot, Gov. Gary Herbert declared it "a public health crisis." He made that bold statement on Tuesday as he signed a bill which was written by the moral folks over at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation which previously went by Morality in Media.

Championed by Senator Todd Weiler, that piece of legislation urges state authorities to join the battle and defeat internet porn once and for all. Per the Daily Dot, it apparently "recognizes the need for education, prevention, research, and policy change at the community and societal level."

Weiler went on to say that those adult images and videos are as addictive as cigarettes. Pop quiz: Which one kills more than 480,000 people per year?

That’s not to say people don’t get addicted to porn. There’s just a major difference between injecting heroine and watching two actors, who are pretending to be related through marriage, rubbing their genitals against each other.
