In an exclusive interview with Telemundo airing tonight, Emma Coronel Aispuro, the wife of the notorious El Chapo, speaks out about her husband and her concerns about his well-being

The special, titled "The Queen of El Chapo" is Coronel Aispuro's first-ever speaking appearance and will feature her in conversation with Mexican journalist Anabel Hernández. Coronel, a former beauty queen from California, met El Chapo back in 2006. He was around 50-years-old and she was 17. They married a year later on her 18th birthday.

In the interview she mentions that she fears for her husband's life, and that she hasn't seen him since he was captured in early January. "I fear for his life [El Chapo's]. We don't know if he is eating well. We don't know what his situation is because we haven't seen him," she said.

Apparently Coronel Aispuro doesn't trust the Mexican government and has no idea how they are treating her husband.

"They want to make him pay for his escape. They say that they are not punishing him. Of course they are. They are there with him, watching him in his cell," she said in a preview of the interview.

Hernández also spoke up about the interview and, according to NBC, appeared on Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste to share her the conversation, which took place Feb. 12 in Mexico. "This is an interview that I have been going after for a very long time; I've been investigating the life of 'El Chapo' for 15 years. Emma [Coronel Aispuro] thanked me for the interview but I also thanked her because this is an interview to understand the circumstances around this whole ordeal."

According to Hernández, Coronel Aispuro was super cooperative and truly doesn't see her husband as a dangerous criminal.
