The latest update for Grand Theft Auto Online, the madly popular multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto V, will reduce the cash rewards for repeating missions by half. Rockstar says it has nothing against perfectionist who wish to repeat missions over and over but that they want to get players to explore the world.

"We understand players do like to enjoy a mission multiple times, so rather than remove the possibility of doing so, we've allowed replays of these missions at a reduced payout," Rockstar says in a post on its support page. "Many players can get very good at a mission and beat it much faster in consecutive tries, so we've adjusted these payouts to match that case."

About ten seconds later the support page exploded with accusations that Rockstar is just trying to get more cash out of players as GTA Online contains micro-transactions where users can purchase cash packs with real-world money.

What do you think? Does Rockstar want players to explore or are the repeated reductions in payouts a way to bring its virtual economy in line with making some real-world bucks.
