The iOS Pokédex App Makes Your Phone into a Compendium of Poké-Knowledge

If you've always wanted a shiny portable Pokédex like the one Ash carries in the Pokémon anime, well, there's an app for that—the Pokédex for iOS app courtesy of The Pokémon Company International.

Be prepared to give up all your nuggets to get it, though. Sure, the initial cost of $1.99 seems reasonable, but beware: that only gets you the Pokémon entries from the Unova region, the one featured in Pokémon Black and White. Then:

Once fans get Pokédex for iOS, they can search the app's Store to purchase the full National Pokédex, region by region: Kanto Pokédex (National Pokédex No. 001-151), Johto Pokédex (National Pokédex No. 152-251), Hoenn Pokédex (National Pokédex No. 252-386), and Sinnoh Pokédex (National Pokédex No. 387-493) for $5.99 USD each. Every regional Pokédex features the same level of detailed information as that provided by the Unova Pokédex.

With the initial cost plus the price for each region's entries, you're looking at a total of around $26 for a full Pokédex. But who's counting? And who can measure the cost of having such a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips? Right?
