First Trailer for "Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z" is Full of Cel-Shaded Cyborg Zombie Ninjas

The Tokyo Game Show starts today and it's time for Japanese developers ply their wares. Megaman co-creater Keiji Inafune and Team Ninja have come together to take the Ninja Gaiden franchise in a new direction.

The cel-shaded teaser trailer flips the script and puts our familiar hero Ryu Hyabusa in the role of the villain that needs a katana deep tissue massage. The game looks to be a bit more of a fast paced, dynamic interpretation of the franchise. Plus, all of the un-dead ninjas that you'll be cutting down with your cybernetic bits.

What do you think? Turning the hero into the villain isn't done all of the time, but it's still a cool twist on things, especially combined with the cel-shading. Let us know what you think on Twitter.
