Project CARS is a Community-Aided Racing Sim (get it? It's an acronym!) from Slightly Mad Studios, the developers of Need for Speed Shift.

It's basically being funded by a private Kickstarter-style group of fans, who have varying access to the game's development depending on what membership they purchase. Weird, right?

But they may be onto something, as the game in its latest incarnation boasts possibly the most photorealistic graphics the world has ever seen. Now if only we can get a video…

Check out the Project CARS screens and tell us what you think in the comments or on Twitter. The game's supposedly in the works for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U in addition to PC, but do you think there's any chance the consoles could produce anything close to these graphics?
