"Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut" Adds a New Ending Option

WARNING: THIS POST AND VIDEO CONTAIN MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUT THE ENDING OF MASS EFFECT 3

In case you hadn't heard, the new and improved endings for Mass Effect 3 came out today. The extra content is supposed to bolster every version of the ending with information about how your choices effected the outcome of the game.

Well, there's more to it then that, actually.

If internet buzz is to be believed, there's now a fourth option for Shepard during game's final decision. When given the option to become the consciousness of the Reapers, destroy all synthetic life, or synthesize the two, Shepard can now tell the Reapers to shove it, because he or she can't make the decision for the entire galaxy.

It's also rumored that you can trigger the new ending by shooting the "star child".

The video above is the "rejection" ending in its entirety. Do not watch it unless you want to know what happens.

Note: At the time of this posting, we have not seen the new ending(s) of Mass Effect 3 for ourselves, so it is still possible that the video is fake.
