Video games haven't changed drastically in the last decade or so, but there is at least one major shift that, above anything else, most often causes classic games to lose their shine: the rise of hi-def.

Nowadays games are designed solely with HD televisions in mind. Small text and icons are unreadable on anything smaller than a 30-inch flat screen, and many of us are gaming on 50-inch and larger behemoths.

So it's particularly engrossing when our favorite games of yore are given an HD makeover. Here's ten of our favorite such treatments.
