"Crazy Chocobo", a heavy metal version of the Final Fantasy series' Chocobo Theme, is not a fan project: The song actually appears on the official Final Fantasy XIII-2 soundtrack. Needless to say, it feels out of step with the series' generally orchestral score.
Even more striking, "Crazy Chocobo" has lyrics! I honestly can't tell you what they are, but according to Topless Robot, one line goes: "Saddle up if you think you can ride in this rodeo / Are we in hell? I don't know..."
FInal Fantasy has been known for its music for a long time. I guess Square Enix is looking for a different type of notoriety this time around.

This theme will most likely be the theme for the Red Chocobo found in this game. SE has stated that the red chocobo has a mischievous/bad side. So this song actually kind of makes sense for it. There's already a regular chocobo theme called "groovy chocobo"
