"Skyrim" Launch To Earn Bethesda $450 Million

In addition to nabbing scads of perfect review scores from around the industry, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is also going to bring in oodles of cash.  Bethesda has shipped seven million copies of the game and has reported that half were sold in the first 48 hours.  They expect revenues to reach $450 million in global sales when their launch units have all been moved.  Add to that the fact that Skyrim broke Steam's concurrent player record with more than 280,000 simultaneous players and you will get the picture that this is a massively successful game.  The proof is in the pudding on this one because it's not hype if it's just that good.  Can you say, game of the year?

Oh yeah, I've played it for 3 days now with it's addicting gameplay, and made me almost wish it was an MMO. But I thought.. nah.. I'd rather not have to deal with annoying and rude players that generally ruin the gaming experience. This game gives me great content, having a constant stream of adventure where ever I choose to go and explore. For the first time in my gaming experience, I've felt like I was truly immersed into a REAL and BEAUTIFUL world. A place I can call home (to some degree), and do as I please.
