Operations in Raccoon City Launching March 20, 2012

After a series of delays, Capcom has finally put a firm release date on Slant Six’s take on the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will launch in the US on March 20, 2011. We hope that you aren’t expecting the traditional survival horror adventure though because this game will flip the RE-formula on its side.

Operation Raccoon City is actually a squad based shooter set during the events of Resident Evil 2. Players will assume the role of members of an elite Umbrella Security Force and find their selves dropped into the midst of the Hell that is Raccoon City during the initial virus outbreak. Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to hunt down the one and only Leon Kennedy.

The game is launching for the the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 originally but a PC version is planned for later in the year.
