Coming September 6, Resistance 3 is taking the franchise in a completely different direction than the first two iterations—the war has been lost, and Nathan Hale is no more (spoiler alert, those who never finished Res 2). And after the last one, the gang at Insomniac knew they had disappointed some of the first game's hardcore followers (one of the devs famously said that the game "was a failure" in the eyes of diehard fans).
