Just in time for Valentine’s Day, superdeveloper Grasshopper—as in Suda 51 (No More Heroes
) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil
)—has released new screens for its long awaited psychological action title, Shadows of the Damned
. Besides the monsters and demons gamers will encounter throughout protagonist Garcia’s Dante-esque mission to rescue his girlfriend from the underworld, Grasshopper has thrown a bunch of oddball things in the mix including baby heads used as gates, floating eyeballs, and absinthe vending machines (well, we really aren’t mad at the latter).
For those lucky enough to hit up GDC next week, EA Partners will have SOTD levels on deck to play for the first time ever. The rest of us'll just have to wait until the game's release sometime this year. We're just glad this is only a game—we love our girls, but not enough to go to Hell to get them back.
