Game: Final Fantasy XIII
Year: 2009
The Final Fantasy series has had its share of ridiculous characters, but with the change of pace that FFXIII brought came a horrible set-up with Orphan, the ultimate baddie. Thankfully, this multi-phase boss battle doesn't throw you back to the beginning of the level upon dying, but Oprhan's dirty tricks—like a Death spell that he sometimes casts consecutively—makes this an exercise in frustration. At least we've still got Serah cosplay.

It's not an anticlimactic ending.. the AI just didnt respond properly.

This wasnt the final boss. the final boss was Deadalus. this was the boss for chicago. But Deadalus was the final Boss for the game.

I remember this fight and I almost smashed my TV until I learned about having to hold the block button at the end. I agree it was totally lame.

Kind of disagree with you on this one. I thought this Final Boss battle was something different and unexpected.

I agree. This boss battle was more annoying than it was challenging and rewarding.

I disagree here. This wasn't really meant to be a "battle" in the true video game sense but more of plot point in the story.
