Dragon Age: Origins was one of those games that drew a line in the sand. RPG purists loved it like a fat kid loves a +7 Invincibility Cloak, but those outside the genre's devoted fanbase had more of a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. Which in some ways is no huge surprise: hardcore RPGs have a steep learning curve, and thanks to conventions like level-grinding can be notoriously hard to crack. To its credit, though, Bioware listened to fans and foes alike during the sequel's development, and from the time we spent with it last week, Dragon Age II is shaping up to be a huge experience.
