Mobile Check-In: The 5 Best iPad Games (Right Now)

ipad

Well, the iPad is out, and we've already weighed in on the best free apps for it—but what about the best games? After all, more than a third of the 2,385 iPad apps currently available are games, which means there's a little trail and error involved with picking ones that'll prove to be worth the money. (Not to mention that with Apple's mindblowing new Game Center available this summer, you're going to want titles that adapt well to a multiplayer and/or social experience). And that, of course, is where we come in. Because we are *high voice* aaaaaaawe-soooooome. If you're early enough an adopter to have an iPad already, cop these now; for all the rest of you biding your time, trust that these are the types of titles that really show off what the iPad can do. Gamegasm!

mirror

MIRROR'S EDGE
Price: $12.99
Complex Says: EA showed us this one a couple of months ago, and we were instantly hooked. The mobile version is more 2-D than original console parkour game, but it's a pleasing blend of timing and graphics. Almost a rhythm game, but thankfully minus the ugly-ass guitar and the cheesy synth-metal.

REAL RACING HD
Price: $9.99
Complex Says: Woof. You already know we love a good racing game, but Firemint's iPad-optimized title is gave us one of those "wait, this is REAL?" technology moments. Just try not to play while you're, y'know, actually driving. Leave that for porn consumption.

CIVILIZATION REVOLUTION
Price: $12.99
Complex Says: The classic PC strategy franchise introduced this streamlined version a couple of years back: it was crack on consoles, slightly less crack on the iPhone, but with the increased real estate and sharper graphics, Sid Maier's baby is back like cooked coke. Kills a short plane flight like *snap* that.

nova

N.O.V.A.
Price: $9.99
Complex Says: You probably remember this from Apple's original iPad announcement back in January, and then as a popular iPhone app, but the iPad version adds new multiple target-locking and better control of grenades (think Uncharted 2. As much as we thought a decent FPS on a mobile was impossible, we stand corrected (and addicted).

scrabble

SCRABBLE
Price: $9.99
Complex Says: You know it, you love it, you've played it on your phone. Now pair the jumbo version with the iPhone's free Tile Rack app and you've got a surprisingly full-fledged board game experience. Which is kinda sad to get excited about, since it's a $500 (and up) machine, but there you go. We're nerds.

I don't really like it when individuals just copy and paste comments…A number of people just comment to obtain a backlink, however, I can’t blame them because backlinking is regarded as the fundamentals to getting a good pagerank and visitors. If however the comment is applicable to the topic, then it’s actually a much better backlink than a simple copy and paste also, the importance of having lots of comments is so big. Interesting post.
