Dumbest Conmen Ever Mail Boxes Filled With Ice as Real iPads and Get Fined

Look above. See those men? Don't be like those men. Your mother raised you better.

You see, these guys thought it would be smart to fill boxes they said had iPads with something other than iPads, to con the post office out of some money when the packages arrived at their destination iPad-less. These two men are Nathan Meunch, 29, and Nigel Bennett, 39. Role models to no one.

Meunch walked into a Royal Mail post office in England back in 2012 with boxes which he claimed were filled with iPads. So, he insured the boxes for £2,500 (about $4,000) and handed them over to the postal worker. During the trial of both men, postal workers said the boxes pretty much "disintegrated" in front of them

One of the clerks, Elaine Sloane, told the court that when Meunch walked into the post office, he was dripping wet, so she asked him if it had been raining: “I just happened to say to the gentleman is it raining outside and he said 'yes', but it seemed strange to me because I could see from where I was sitting it didn’t look like it was raining.”

“I asked him what was inside and he said iPads," she continued. "About an hour later, a colleague noticed a puddle of water beneath the Special Delivery pile.

“We had a little look and you could see all ice in there. He had sent it as iPads and I couldn’t believe it was all this water and the box was disintegrating.”

The men have been sentenced to 12 months of community service, 150 hours of unpaid work for the courts, and about $800 in fines.

Don't be these guys. Ever.
