BlackBerry Messenger is Coming to Android and iOS This Month

It's time for a reintroduction: BlackBerry Messenger is coming to iOS 6 and devices running Android 4.0 or higher on June 27th.

That's right. The previously BlackBerry-only messaging service will be made available for other platforms. T-Mobile UK let the release date out of the bag when they posted this tweet of BBM running on a Samsung Galaxy S3. According to BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins, bringing BBM to other platforms is a sign of confidence that they can compete in a market that is currently overrun with apps like Kik, WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Messenger, and other platform exclusive chat services like iMessage.
