Even Google Inc. executive chairman Eric Schmidt admits talking to Google Glass can be weird and inappropriate, reports Reuters

In a talk on Thursday at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, Schmidt said using voice commands to control the gadget "is the weirdest thing."

"There are obviously places where Google Glasses are inappropriate," he added, but over time, people will have to adjust and develop new etiquette for the products, which record video surreptitiously and bring up information only the wearer can see.

Google Glass has yet to go mainstream, as Schmidt is taking care to roll the product out slowly. "It's so new, we decided to be more cautious," he said.

The device should be broadly available by 2014, though Google will pre-approve its apps, unlike what it's done with Android phones and tablets.
