Thanks to the ubiquity of the Internet and email, people are more garrulous and interactive than ever. A map displaying the world's email density shows which countries share the most interaction.

Researchers from Stanford University, Cornell University and Qatar’s Computational Research Institute teamed up with Yahoo! to examine more than 10 million emails sent through the Yahoo! mail.



The results looked like this: Countries that shared economic and cultural similarities (language) had higher email volumes. For example, U.S. email users had closest relations with those in Israel, Switzerland and Italy, while the web-connected in China had connections with Japan and Thailand.
