Vine App Gets 17+ Age Rating After Porn Controversy

After a controversial user-uploaded adult clip was highlighted in Vine's network-wide Editor's Picks steam last week, the app now bears a 17+ warning for users in the Apple App Store, a substantial jump from its original 12 and up restriction.

The Vine app version 1.5 appeared in the Apple App Store on Wednesday.

Looping six-second videos displaying hardcore porn and nudity are no longer cloaked on the Twitter-owned video sharing network. Porn clips can be found searching terms like "sex" and "porn" under related users. Nearly no adult content arises searching salacious hashtags.
