From the makers of Beats By Dre headphones comes Beats, an on-demand music streaming service, Billboard reports. The news came Tuesday during the All ThingsD Dive into Media conference in San Francisco and was announced by Jimmy Iovine, Interscope Geffen A&M and a Beats' co-founder.

According to Iovine, the company's "pros" are hard at work "making tons and tons of curated lists" for "every possible situation." And the service, called Beats, will be designed to track your every move, "so when you wake up in the morning, there will be a list waiting for you."

Sounds creepy, but the concept makes sense when you think about it. Songza operates on the same assumption that you'll want to hear music depending on your context, or whatever time of day it is. And if Pandora's popularity is any indication—the streaming service owns that market, which Apple is rumored to be eyeing—then Beats might have a fighting chance, if not another feature that sets it apart.

Iovine flatly denied any celebrities are making the lists, but Trent Reznor's involvement—the Oscar-winner has been tapped to oversee Beats' curation's efforts, which "marry math with emotion," said Iovine—could also be a draw for users. “Right now, there are only mathematical solutions,” he added, which the company wants the rocker to resolve.
