Nearly Named: Jitter, Twitch
Before the second most popular social network was named after a bird's call, creator Jack Dorsey was playing with two other possible names: "Jitter" and "Twitch." After deciding that those weren't the best options, the team cracked opened the dictionary, started at Twitch and worked their way down until they landed on Twitter.
