Hackers Steals Personal Info of 100,000 Alumni
College: Boston College
Date: March 11, 2005
Seems like Boston College can't keep itself from making the front page of the Hacker Times. An anonymous cyber-terrorist hacked into BC's phone banking system and installed a program to help launch attacks at other computers. Though the system was ran by an outside vendor, it was used for the school's fundraising efforts and provided the attacker with alumni addresses and Social Security numbers. Things got so bad, BC officials had to alert the 100,000+ people stored in the school's database.
