10 Things You Didn't Know About Facebook

It's the World's Largest Photo Sharing Service

When you think of online photo services, names like Flickr, Photobucket, Picasa, and, of course, Instagram come to mind. But one website trumps them all. Facebook. Think about it. Besides Instagram, which is now owned by Facebook, where do you go to see photos of your friends and family? According to Facebook, since it introduced its photo feature in 2005, its users have uploaded around 265 billion photos. That makes it the biggest photo sharing and photo storage service on the Internet by a wide margin. How wide? On August 1, 2011, Flickr announced that the 6 billionth photo was uploaded to its service. Flickr’s parent company, Yahoo, says 4.5 million images are uploaded to the service every day. Facebook users upload 300 million a day.
