Microsoft Announces Office 2013 Pricing

Microsoft Announces Office 2013 Pricing

Unlike the hinted pricing of its upcoming Surface tablet, Microsoft has confirmed the pricing of its Office software, Office 2013. Microsoft has moved away from its typical pricing method of a flat fee and is now introducing subscription-based pricing for the software.

Office 365 Home Premium would be the best buy for home users of Office. The package includes all the notable software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and others. This package will sell for $99.95 a year or $8.33 a month. With this subscription, the user will be able to share the software with five other devices, either PC or Mac. This would be ideal for households with multiple computers and laptops.

Microsoft is also throwing in some extras when you purchase Office 2013. A subscription will get you 20GB of storage on Skydrive along with 60 Skype minutes per month. Business owners will pay slightly more coin for Office 365 Small Business Premium. The business version is priced at $149.99 a year or $12.50 per month. Like Home Premium, Small Business Premium can be installed on up to five devices. Additionally, business users receive a deep integration with Microsoft's SharePoint, Lync, and Exchange services. Even though Microsoft is moving towards subscription-based software, you still have the option to purchase Office 2013 at a flat fee $219.00 for the Home and Business version and $399.99 for the Professional edition.
