RIM to Release 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook

RIM to Release 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook

Remember the BlackBerry PlayBook? The tablet RIM released in 2011 that failed to feature all of the features BlackBerry users adored, like email and messaging capabilities? The one that sat on store shelves for months, selling only 500,000 in three months? Well, it's back.

Research in Motion has updated its tablet with high-speed 4G LTE mobile data capabilities and plans on releasing it on August 9, in Canada. If you live north of the border, you can cop the new PlayBook from Bell, Rogers, or Telus. RIM says that it will become available to the customers in the U.S. and Europe "in the coming months."

In addition to the 4G antenna, RIM also threw in 32 GB of storage and a faster, 1.5 GHz processor. It will also run RIM's new PlayBook 2.0 operating system that will finally bring native email and messaging, a calender, and a video chat app. Besides that, everything is pretty muc the same. You get the same seven-inch 1024 x 600 display, front and rear-facing HD cameras, and one gigabyte of RAM.

This may be one of those times when it's better never than late.
