Olympic fever starts today— for the next two weeks, billions of people all over the world will be talking about the summer games. And, since this is 2012, they'll also be tweeting.
To capitalize on the latter, Twitter has launched a dedicated #Olympics channel. At twitter.com/hashtag/olympics viewers can see all the latest tweets, photos and videos posted by athletes, fans and journalists in one centralized location.
Twitter built the channel in partnership with NBC, which, a long with two dedicated mobile apps and 3D TV support, has shown a real commitment to bringing this year's broadcast into the 21st century. The page is curated by both humans and algorithms.
In the past, Twitter has made similar hubs for Euro 2012 and Nascar.
