Sony Announces Thinnest Walkman Ever

Sony Announces Thinnest Walkman Ever

If, for whatever reason, you don't want to buy an iPod, and you don't listen to music on your phone, there are still a handful of companies still making MP3 players. Companies like Sony. The Japanese consumer electronics giant today announced updates to its Walkman line of media players, including one its marking as its thinnest yet.

At just 7mm (0.2mm thinner than the iPod Touch), the E470 Series Walkman (pictured above) sports a two-inch display and comes in six colors. If that's too small, Sony also released the F800 series which runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich, has a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 3.5-inch display. It's basically an Android smartphone without the phone part.

Both models hit stores next month. The E470 Series will start at $79.99 for 4 GB ($89.99 for 8 GB, $109.99 for 16 GB), while the F800 will start at $269.99 for 16 GB and $299.99 for 32 GB.
