Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Confirmed, Headed First To Galaxy Nexus

The next version of Android has been outed as 4.1 "Jelly Bean" in a leaked post on the Google Play store, despite the fact that Google has yet to officially announce the update.

The posting was on the official page for the unlocked Galaxy Nexus phone and proclaimed the device would soon be "the first phone with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean." That language has since been removed, but you can still see it in the screenshot above.

Google is expected to formally announce Jelly Bean at it's annual I/O conference next week. The name of the new Android version was first leaked by the President of Asus back in February.

Currently, there are still only a small handful of phones available with the version of Android Google announced last year, 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich." These include the HTC One phones and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S III.
