Twitter Now Recognized By Academics As A Credible News Source

Recall how sometimes for school, you’d have to write a lengthy paper and pretend to use things other than Wikipedia as sources for research? And then you’d even have to write a “Works Cited” page proving you went past Wikipedia, though it would simply rehash Wikipedia’s own “References” section at the bottom? Well, some group of librarians called the Modern Language Association is responsible for determining the format for that “Works Cited” page and they’ve decided to add rules for citing tweets (see image above), meaning Twitter is officially important in the academic world. Which makes total sense when you consider most folks who even use MLA rules get their news from Twitter instead of, say, a newspaper.
