In 2005, NBA commissioner David Stern implemented a mandatory dress code for all players arriving and departing games, and those sitting on the bench not in uniform. The dress code did away with dudes rocking nothing but white ts and diamond chains to games. It also, incidentally, coincided with the evolving face of popular dress.
