Amazon Adds Viacom Shows to 'Prime' Streaming Service

If Netflix didn't take Amazon's Amazon Prime service seriously before, it better start. Today the online retail giant announced a partnership with Viacom to make TV shows from MTV, Comedy Central, BET, VH1, Spike, and Nickelodeon available for online streaming.

Over the next few months Amazon will make available to Amazon Prime subscribers hit shows such as Chappelle's Show, Jersey Shore, The Hills, and, for the kids, Spongebob Squarepants. The new additions will be the total number of shows available on the Amazon Prime service to 15,000.

Amazon Prime offers Amazon shoppers free two-day shipping on any orders as well as access to its online streaming video library for $79-a-year. While Netflix still boasts more content than Amazon Prime, the service has worked hard over the past year to include a number of partners like FOX, CBS, Sony, NBCUniversal, and Warner Bros.
