SpnKiX could be the first consumer-ready motorized shoes. What are motorized shoes? They're like skates that don't require you to actually skate. Just press the 'go' button on a remote the size of a key fob, and SpnKiX will take you cruising around the block at just under 10 mph.
The shoes were created by LA-based industrial designer Peter Treadway, who is financing the production of his prototype via a successful Kickstarter campaign. Treadway asked for $25,000 when he launched the campaign a week ago, but the Kickstarter community has already blessed him with over $70,000.
If you want a pair of SpnKiX, you should pre-order yours now by giving $375 to the Kickstarter campaign. When the campaign ends on February 2nd, the motorskates will retail for $650.
