Toshiba's Super Slick Portege Ultrabook Heads To Best Buy For $899

Back when we told you about the hot new ultrabooks debuting this fall, we mentioned Toshiba's Portege z830 was a "katana-like machine" that would impress with a sticker price of "under $1,000." Well the time has come to make those dreams a reality, and it looks like Toshiba has come through. An American version of the z830 known as the z835 will come exclusively to Best Buy for just $899.

The z835 will come with a 1.4 ghz Intel i3 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 128 GB solid state hard drive and a backlit keyboard. It's a little slimmer than the MacBook Air at its thickest point, and weighs just 2.4 pounds. Various internal configurations are available.
