Steve Jobs Biography Hints at Upcoming Apple TV Set

One of the most longstanding Apple rumors was on that had the Cupertino, Calif.-based comapny working on its own HDTV. The murmors were put to rest after Steve Jobs himself said he had no interest in building a television. Then came Apple TV (seen above) which allows users to supplant their cable programming with their pay-per-view Internet services like iTunes and Netflix. However, in the upcoming biography written by Walter Isaacson, it looks as if Apple was indeed working on a TV, and was close to finishing it.

The Washington Post got its hands on the biography and scouted this quote in which Jobs talks about building a TV that was incredibly easy to use:

"I’d like to create an integrated television set that is completely easy to use,’ [Steve Jobs] told me. ‘It would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud.’ No longer would users have to fiddle with complex remotes for DVD players and cable channels. ‘It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it."

Perhapes we'll see a real Apple TV after all.
