This Microsoft Kinect-Based Humanoid Robot Can Be Yours for $340K

Today, San Francisco-based Meka Robotics took the wraps off its latest masterpiece, the M1 Mobile Manipulator. A combination of a bunch of Meka's other technologies, the M1 comes together to perform tasks in "human environments". Well, "tasks" is a bit of stretch—it's main speciality is pretty straightforward: it can lift things up, and put them down.

No, it can't play violin, or walk up and down steps, but the modular M1 is interesting for another reason. Nestled in its humanoid head is a Microsoft Kinect sensor and a 5 MP ethernet camera for human interaction. Can you imagine what would happen if the Kinect Hacker community was let loose on this thing? Actually, scratch that—we just had visions of I, Robot. Peep the video below to see it action.
