So why are so many Americans drawn to non-smartphones? Simple. Most people just want a handset that can make phone calls, receive text messages, and maybe send the occasional e-mail if necessary. Not so. My son dropped his Brigade off his desk at school. (Students must keep cell phones on the desks so teachers can see that they are not in use). His elbow knocked it off and the hinge shatterd...SEVENTEEN days after purchase. No warranty. No insurance...who figures they well need it to cover damages to this phone that braggs such durability!

Why would anyone buy any electronic device without a warranty? One year manufacturers warranty would be the minimum I'd accept.
