Almighty iPhone Takes Confessions Now

Lord knows the Catholic Church has had its share of image problems in recent years, (really throughout history, if we're being honest) but 2011 has seen the Vatican attempting to reboot for a new decade. First the Pope came out as pro social networking in his World Communications Day speech, and now the sacred act of confession is getting a mobile make-over via a Catholic Church in the United States approved iPhone app.

"Confession: A Roman Catholic App," developed by the Indiana-based Little iApps, will walk Catholics through the sacrament and a "personal examination of the conscience." The app was developed with the help of clergy, and believers are cautioned that they still must see a priest if they wish to receive absolution.

So what's next, a Papal Twitter account? We are totally in favor of a Papal Twitter account.

Most people should just turn over their phone to their priest. Reading through the texts should be confession enough. lol
