Backstory: Registered sex offender John Albert Gardner III created a fictitious MySpace account to communicate with high school student Chelsea King. He would attack King as she was jogging; raping and murdering her, then hiding her corpse in a San Diego Park. Gardner had set up the account nine months before ending his parole bid for molesting a 13-year-old girl in 2000.

Punishment: Gardner is sitting on two life sentences without parole.
