The Issue: Technical problems with Google's mapping service made censored images of private homes and obscured properties visible to iPad, iPhone, and PC users. This broke Germany's privacy laws.
Action Taken: Besides threatening to sue Google for several months, Germany has taken no legal action. An estimated 3% of Germany's residents have requested to have images of their homes removed from Street View.
