The artist formerly known as Kanye West demanded Adidas relocated Yeezy staff to work at a remote Wyoming ranch which closed within six months.

As reported by Bloomberg, Adidas agreed to relocate some of its staff dedicated to the Yeezy brand to a facility near his $14 million ranch in Cody, Wyoming. An employee for the German sportswear company, who agreed to speak under the condition of anonymity, said the move required millions of dollars worth of machinery and extensive staff relocation to pull off. However, the facility closed just six months after Ye’s demands were met.

He purchased the ranch in 2019, and announced plans to develop the property into a “Yeezy campus” of sorts. Later that same year, he revealed plans to move the Yeezy headquarters once again from Cody to Calabasas, California. Last year, he abruptly put one of his two Wyoming ranch properties up for sale with a list price of $11 million. Then a year later, he took the ranch off the market, per New York Post. It’s not clear at what point his plans for Yeezy facilities in Wyoming fell apart, but it was before Adidas broke off ties with the multi-hyphenate on account of his anti-Semitic comments.

Following the termination of his contract with Adidas, with whom he launched the partnership in 2015, Ye is no longer a billionaire. More recently, he reportedly pulled up to the Skechers headquarters in Los Angeles “unannounced and uninvited.” It’s unclear if he was attempting to build a relationship with the sneaker brand now that no major company wants to be associated with him. Regardless, it sounds like he was a nightmare to work with even when he wasn’t sharing white nationalist talking points on the regular.
