Garbstore creates a concise collection that pays homage to the uniforms and casual wear of the postwar era for AW17.
Taking references from the early British newspaper, Sunday Dispatch, the collection takes cues from military surplus clothing through shape and silhouette to create an authentic feel. Within the collection are enzyme-washed garments and reproductions of vintage cloth to further authenticate the feel of a newly constructed modern past.
Through the reinterpretation of sportswear in hard wearing materials, the past is brought full circle to create new levels of style and detail that are true to Garbstore form.
Alongside the AW17 offering is the Garbstore Decade Tee — a series of T-shirts celebrating the Garbstore's 10th anniversary.
Each T-shirt has been designed by makers by some of the brand's favourite labels and collaborators over the past ten years, providing a physical homage to longstanding relationships. A percentage of the proceeds from the Decade Tee series will be donated to the Refugee Crisis.
