Wiz Khalifa, wearer of #coolpants, is generally killing it right now. From a gang of newly-released singles to a thriving weed business, the 29-year-old rapper is on top of his game. And if that wasn’t enough, Khalifa has added yet another title to his growing resume alongside rapper and weed king: clothing designer.

Khalifa’s debut on the fashion scene comes in the form of Bash, a father-son clothing line made in collaboration with Junk Food. The line, which took most of its inspiration from Khalifa’s son Sebastian (aka Bash) and his favorite things, is heavy on graphic tees, featuring everything from pumpkins to stereos. Shirts and socks come in both kid and adult sizes, so if you’re looking to get that matchy thing going with your son, look no further. Plus, there’s also a pretty cool bomber for the more minimalist dresser.

There’s no doubt that choosing to enter into the world of fashion with a father-son line is an interesting move by Khalifa, especially considering how much his son had to do with the designs. So, to find out what inspired Khalifa to create Bash, we caught up with the rapper/designer earlier this week.

If you had to sum up your own personal style in three words, what would they be?
Confident. Comfortable. Bossed Up.

Your person style has really evolved over the past few years. How has your growing interest in the fashion industry led to creating your own line?
My personal style has evolved along with my life, my career and my role as a father. I’m a full-time dad, and most days I gotta wake up, grab something quick, and go out the door for a full day with Bash. With this line, you can do that and look and feel great. Both you and your kid.

You’re one of the most stylish rappers out there. Why did you choose Junk Food as your first fashion collaboration? What drew you to them?
Junk Food really focuses on quality fabrics and designs. I knew I wanted not only a line that looked good, but because it was for kids, it had to feel really great, and Junk Food made it happen. The tees are really soft and the perfect fit.

What was the process of designing like for you and your son? Were there any other brands or looks that inspired you?
It was a lot of fun. I loved seeing Bash get all excited seeing his favorite drawings come to life on clothing. The designs are inspired by things he loves, like pumpkins and dinosaurs, so throughout the whole process we focused on his hobbies and interests.

What’s the piece that you’re the most proud of?
I think I’ve been wearing a different T-shirt with the bomber every day since the line came out.  I love Bash in the green bomber, though. The bombers came out awesome.

The fact that your very first fashion line is a father-son line that you created together with your son is interesting. Why was this so important to you?
Bash is everything to me.  Fashion is really important to me, but bringing Bash into it and making it a father son line gives the line much more meaning. Getting Bash involved and having him pick the designs was also important, because it gives me the opportunity to start teaching him about working hard and work ethic. He’s really smart and mature, and he has such a huge personality. This is only the beginning.
