Percival have looked to the Empires of Old as inspiration for their latest Spring/Summer 2016 collection, bringing an air of exotic luxury to the new range which they’ve dubbed ‘The Merchant's Closet'.

Despite having an up-market look, Percival manage to turn out some quality pieces that are ideal for casual lifestyle enthusiast as well. For their collection the London-based brand have looked at the cultural diversity of the famed ‘Silk Road’, an ancient network of trade routes that was integral in connecting the East and West, capturing the various unique diversities along the way.

At the centre of the collection is the Ottoman Work Suit, a nod to the beautiful patterns found on Kilim rugs from the glory days of the Ottoman Empire. Percival reworked their classic outshirts, pants and shorts with custom Kilim prints.

The collection also includes a Cuban collar shortsleeve shirt featuring a crane and indigo fern print. Alternatively, if you are after something more subtle, there is also an organic navy linen and cream canvas version.

Another standout piece is the reworking of their classic longsleeve cuts, as this season they’ve changed the aesthetic with Kashgar town and Hangzhou Garden prints. Additionally they introduce a lightweight Vincent jacket in cinnamon corduroy, nep denim and navy waffle cotton, which draw upon the rich and expansive colours of The Silk Road.

The collection is completed with a hooded rainmac with binded seams and a classic workshirt that comes in cream canvas and speckled navy twill.

The collection is available now from the Percival webstore, for a look at the collection scroll down to the gallery below.
