Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing just announced he is collaborating with Nike on his Instagram. The designer posted three separate photos with his initials and the Nike logo captioned with some variation of the following: "ARE U READY ? @nike x @olivier_rousteing #epic #champions #dreamteam #nikelab."

Critics have long had mixed opinions of Rousteing's designs, but it's hard to say the man at the head of Balmain isn't of the people. He ushered in a social media revolution at the label, bringing fans further behind the scenes than most storied houses were willing to, and his collaboration with H&M brought out massive crowds.  With that in mind, it makes sense that Rousteing would be cashing in on everyone's current favorite trend: athleisure.

Rousteing won't be the first designer to work with the sportswear giant. Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci just unveiled his latest collection with Nike, which includes floral sportswear and more sneakers. Rousteing hasn't shared whether his collab will feature apparel, sneakers, or both, but it will definitely be interesting to see the designer's gaudy take on sportswear. The announcement images already feature a gilded swoosh.

We will continue to update this story as it develops.
