Jay Z's foray into fragrance could end up costing him millions, according to a new lawsuit. The rapper successfully dropped his Gold Jay Z cologne back in 2013, and now Parlux Fragrances is claiming that he has crippled the brand by refusing to endorse his product.

The fragrance company is suing Jay Z for $18 million due to the fact that sales have dropped significantly since he stopped promoting the brand, reports the New York Daily News. According to the lawsuit, Gold was the best selling celebrity fragrance after its debut, but last year sales declined from a projected $35 million to $6.1 million. So, the company is asking for $16 million in damages in addition to the return of the $2 million in royalties he collected.

The court papers further accuse Jay Z of refusing to appear on Good Morning America, as well as passing on a cover story for WWD and a promotional event at Macy’s. He also reportedly rejected prototypes for an 18-carat gold capped bottle designed by Jacob the Jeweler, which cost $20,000 each to make.
