Who thought that was a good idea?

A Singapore-based retailer is experiencing some serious backlash after the site offered customers a "Rape Us Now" button.

For some reason, the brand SuperGurl thought it would be a good idea to use the controversial choice of words rather than the perfectly acceptable "Shop Now" option on its homepage during Black Friday. Visitors to the site, which is targeted towards young women, were quick to call out the brand for using sexual assault as a marketing tool.

SuperGurl's creative director Jordus Lim took to the site to issue an apology on behalf of the brand, calling it an honest mistake. He seemed to ultimately blame the incident on the site designer by writing "I have failed to review my Graphic Designer’s work before approving the image to be displayed on our site."

He also responded to the individual complaints on its social media pages. Lim asked that customers accept their apology, but it is hard to understand how how anyone could make light of such a serious issue, especially after Bloomingdale's recently came under fire for a similar ad with a dangerous reference to date rape.
